1. Why Doctors & Nurses Prefer OET Writing and Speaking
Scoring 7.0 in IELTS Writing can be frustrating for clinicians asked to write essays on urban planning or art history. In OET Writing, you are given structured patient case notes and 45 minutes to write a 180–200 word referral, transfer, or discharge letter—a task that aligns naturally with clinical reasoning.
2. OET Speaking: Clinical Communication & Empathy Criteria
OET Speaking consists of two 5-minute clinical role-plays where you act as the healthcare professional and the interlocutor plays the patient. Alongside linguistic accuracy, you are graded on Clinical Communication criteria: relationship building, gathering information, explaining medical concepts in plain language, and checking patient understanding.
